Introduction
My last blog, “Sushant Singh Rajput- SSR Diaries Part 19” gave us a brief idea about the meeting of Sushant Singh Rajput with Mahesh Bhatt. Mahesh Bhatt told how Divya Bharti’s and Gulshan Kumar’s death had connections with Sajid Nadiadwala, Nadeem Akhtar, Dawood and others. Let’s get into the depth of the conversation again.
SSR MEETING WITH MAHESH BHATT
Mahesh Bhatt told Sushant to call him from different mobile numbers and not to use single number.
Mahesh Bhatt said, “Sure you can call me from different numbers !”
Sushant Singh asked, “But why this Sir ??”
Bhatt said, “You need to get this deep inside young man. I have a family and this is a industry as I said is my bread and butter. You have plans to go ahead and clean the filth out of it, names like Salman Khan, SRK, Karan Johar, Aditya chopra and many more! Do you think that these people will stay quiet? They will start their own agenda! Why do you want to make me a goat just because you want to bring the truth out!
I understand bringing the truth out is important but for me I don’t want to be the face of it. I will help you behind the scenes but you already decided to take the lead. So I will not stop you in anyway. You can proceed!”
Conversation Continued
Mahesh Bhatt said, “See, if you don’t want to do it then I don’t know what options you can think of. I won’t come out in open to support you. I will always be there to help you and talk to you behind the scenes and will guide you in this. Now the thing is simple! Whatever I promised, I will keep but I have my own conditions too. Before I go ahead with the Gulshan Kumar case, let me tell you what my conditions are.
If you agree, I will definitely help you out, if not I will only keep you informed on Gulshan Kumar and we part ways. What do you have to say about this?”
Sushant agreed, “Please go ahead Sir and let me know what your conditions are.”
Mahesh Bhatt and His Conditions
Bhatt told Sushant, “My conditions are very very simple. You should not have the same number. You will not record any of our calls. The information I am going to share with you will be only with you. These should not go out. Before you take any actions with the information I provide, you will keep me in the loop and also the progress you have made. These are a few conditions I have to start with.
Yes, the most important thing, at any point, you will discuss it with me before making final decisions. After discussions you may go ahead and decide what has to be done. This has to be followed and if any other thing I feel I need to bring to your notice or you feel you need to bring to my notice, you can so that we are on the same page. It is very important for you to understand why I am doing this is.
You want to voice out, you want to make sure that you want to do something here but ensure you don’t get too carried away. You have to stay grounded. This will not be a day or 2 days long exercise but this will go for months together. You need to be very very careful about yourself and the people around you. Inform me every time and keep me in the loop for every step you take.”
Mahesh Bhatt Continued
Bhatt continued, “Yes, you also need to be very careful that you do this work very very silently. Don’t ever come into the limelight and gather the attention.
The more silently you do it, the more faster you get to the roots of issue. This is the only way according to me you can get your task accomplished. Yes, once you finish this, you can do whatever you want to do. That is the way you should go about things at present. Do you understand that?”
Sushant nodded, “Yes Sir, I do.”
Mahesh stated, “I won’t be connecting much with you but with Rhea and yes I will ensure that the information will reach you through other sources as well. So you can better prepare for this. It’s up to you how you want to go ahead but it is very important that you take the right steps. If not, you will be in a big trouble and then you have no one but yourself to blame!”
Sushant responded, “I get it Sir.”
The Death Of Gulshan Kumar and Divya Bharti
Mahesh Bhatt continued, “Ok. let’s proceed. I will tell you what happened with Gulshan Kumar and the connection between the deaths of Gulshan Kumar and Divya Bharti. This will help you understand both these incidents better and you will have a better idea from where to start.
Sushant said, “Ok.”
Bhatt explained, “if there was another person or noted personality I mean, who wanted to stand for himself and stand for what is right then it was Gulshan Kumar ji. It was not that he was a clean person from Day 1 but when compared to others he was much better. He got to know a lot of dirty secrets of this industry from many people. He wanted to act not just for the society but also because his personal life was also in a mess.
So he decided to go for the strike. He was not at all worried about the involvement of the Underworld in the industry. But he definitely couldn’t digest that he bowed his head down to a person like Dawood Ibrahim. He was upset about how Dawood used to finance production studios. Gulshan Kumar had major concerns on the piracy issue as well. He couldn’t digest that Nadeem Saifi was close hand in glove with Dawood. Nadeem Saifi was one of the reasons Dawood could establish a hold in the industry.”
Mahesh Bhatt continued
Bhatt told, “It was people like Nadeem Saifi and Sajid Nadiadwala who used to get the work done for Dawood and also set up meetings and deals for him. This is what Gulshan Kumar got to know and then he was furious on Nadeem. Because he was in close association with Nadeem. See, I am not quite sure about it but I guess, this tiff in the relationship of both took dirty shape.
This lead to both a personal and professional rivalry between them. This rivalry was spoken openly in the industry back then and even now today it has been the talk of the town.
Now the thing is that we need to be aware of here is how did this all start. Why was it required for Gulshan Kumar to be set to rest. See I am only telling you things that I have heard and I am not sure how much of this is actually true.
Whatever I am going to tell you is going to give a rough idea about what happened. This might help you a you with your investigations and getting your desired results.”
Sushant Singh nodded, “Ok Sir.”
The conversation continued
Bhatt added, “when the movie Aashiqui was released Gulshan Kumar was very happy but what happened around that time was that he found out that Nadeem without informing was in touch with D company for something. I am not sure exactly what it is but there are 2 instances here. I will tell you both. Number 1, he was in touch with D company trying to get them on board as investors.
Nadeem Saifi was making sure to take care of all the meetings and of collecting money from them. He was not even informing Gulshan Kumar about it. And if inner sources are to be believed Gulshan Kumar had caught him in the act and this created more tension between the duo. This is how it all started. Number 2, Nadeem Saifi tried to give out information about Gulshan Kumar’s schedule to D company.
He told them about Gulshan’s weaknesses and strengths so that they could use these to get on board with him. D company wanted to be a part of Gulshan’s ventures.”
Mahesh Bhatt explained
Mahesh added, “A common friend informed Gulshan about all this and that was how it all started. I don’t know which of the 2 statements are true. But these are the 2 statements that I have got and I believe his death and mystery around it reveals around these 2 statements. If some other sayings are to be believed, there were 5 secret meetings done wherein some investment plans were discussed and Gulshan Kumar was never in the loop and when the thing came to his notice he was furious.
Another scenario to this was that Gulshan Kumar himself was involved. There was a tiff in the percentages which gave rise to the fight and that is what led to his death. But Yes, the most important thing here is the shooting instance which took place. The person who was the mastermind behind this was Nadeem Saifi. That is one of the main reasons he ran away from the country and this is there everywhere. I will connect you to some people around this which will help you to get to the root of this.”
Sushant responded, “Ok Sir.”

Mahesh Bhatt ended up saying, “this is all I know about these two murders and for now I believe we need to stop here. Now you need to get going on this. I will get in touch with you soon again and we can plan more things later if needed. But you need to first finish working on this and then lets meet up again or connect on phone to discuss further. What do you have to say on this?
Sushant said, “sounds good to me Sir.”

Sushant continued narrating in his diary, “This was the complete account of the first meeting I had with Mahesh Bhatt. As this meeting was over, I was not sure what to do! Do I believe this person or do I not but then one thing was quite sure. His body language clearly meant that this Mahesh Bhatt knew a lot of things around this. He is giving me the info only which he feels cannot do much damage to this.
But I will try and make sure I will get out some info from him.
Today’s meeting was much like an understanding class for me. Because I already told earlier it is very very important to understand someone’s body language before you come to conclusion about the person. I will make sure that I keep sticking to this. When I discussed about this with my team, we all came to conclusion that for sometime we will play along.
Because the biggest reason I wanted to connect to him was for Jiah Khan.
As per my reports and the study that I did around this case, I am quite sure that this man has a great involvement in it. Not just this case but there is another case too where this person is the culprit, the death of Parveen Babi.”
Sushant Singh Rajput continued writing
Singh wrote, “Parveen Babi too was very much wanting to do so many things. One very important thing she wanted to do was to expose something big about Tara which I have mentioned in earlier slides. One person where all this corners around is Mahesh and we need to study this Mahesh Bhatt well. I personally feel that this man knows a lot and my team was under the same impression. So we decided to go ahead and stage this. Once we do all the things, we will move on.
That is how we started to stage this and we made our plan and prepared everything according to what Mahesh Bhatt told me.
I know I have to be very careful of Bhatt. But in order to understand everything and get to the roots of some dirty secrets around the industry, one person who can actually do it is Mahesh bhatt. The work that I am doing around these mysterious deaths, this man definitely has his involvement. He had a major role to play. There is one very important thing that I need to mention here.
This man has deep connections with Dawood Ibrahim and with lot of incidents that have happened in Mumbai.”

Rajput concluded, “I have to get close to him and play it out that I trust him. I am looking up to him to do things because here lies the key that can open a lot of dirty secrets in the industry. This was the discussion we took and we stick to the promises with this decision. We cooperated with each other on the same and make sure we will be together in this till we reach to a conclusion.
This marks the end of this discussion and also the end of this chapter.
